GET AN ABORIGINAL-SPECIFIC PROGRAM THAT
WORKS
We have been offering
onsite program training across Canada for the past several
years.
All programs follow
The RedPath
model
that blends clinical and cultural approaches offering
techniques to cultivate a healthy mind, body and spirit. Those
trained in any of TheRedPath
programs will receive a program manual and supplement
materials, a template for report writing, certification,
license agreement and ongoing program support. Access to
assessment tools is also available.
Overview
Whitepath Consulting has developed programs based on The RedPath
model, which is a new approach using emotional and social
competency skills as an alternative to the cognitive
behavioral approach. This new innovative model has proven to
be successful across the country in decreasing substance
misuse and violence. It has also been found to be successful
in educational retention and job readiness.
The model was developed in response
to a need for Aboriginal specific programming to deal with the
many issues that Aboriginal peoples face. The programs were
piloted in a forensic Aboriginal population to determine their
effectiveness. The results found an increase in all areas of
emotional and social functioning.
A variety of exercises and
discussions are used throughout the program to acquire and
practice skills. This process leads to personal insights into
the emotional self, social self and interaction with others.
These skills learned are then internalized providing for
better life choices and decisions based on problem solving
behavior, perspective taking and person perception.
We offer:
*NEW*
The The RedPath
Child & Youth Program
*NEW*
The RedPath
Child and Youth Program consists of 12-sessions and targets
areas of behavior associated with substance misuse, violence,
bullying and gang related problems. The program is broken down
to target three age groups—7-10 years of age, 11-14 years of
age and 15-18 years of age. It was developed not only for the
abuser but also for those who find themselves as the victim.
The
RedPath
Emotion Management Program
The RedPath
Emotion Management Program is based on the Aboriginal holistic
approach to healing and self-wellness, which addresses the
mental, physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of the
participants. The core element of the intervention is to
skillfully deliver tools in a group setting to provide
participants with knowledge and awareness that all events and
behaviours are interconnected with the past, present and
future. The key concepts, used to facilitate action and
change, are identification, communication, reflection and
experience of emotions.
TheRedPath
Addictions Treatment Program
Across the country substance misuse continues to be a
growing concern. There is a need for an alternative approach
to substance abuse treatment and aftercare. The RedPath
Addictions Treatment Program is 21-sessions offering skills to
address the underlying problems associated with addictive
behaviours.
TheRedPath
Living Without Violence Treatment Program
Domestic violence in Aboriginal communities continues to be
a serious problem. There is a need for an alternative approach
that is effective for both the victim and the abuser. The RedPath
Living Without Violence Program is 24-sessions, which offers
support and skills, in a safe environment, to address the
underlying problems associated with violence.
The RedPath
Pre Employment Program
Unemployment rates for Aboriginal peoples are far above the
national average. There is a need for an alternative approach
to employment readiness. The RedPath
Pre Employment Program is 15-sessions designed to increase the
participant’s emotional and social functioning which enhances
the individual’s chances for success in the area of
employment.
